Jean Jensen Obituary

Jean L. Jensen January 8, 1935 – March 24, 2024 Jean went peacefully to Heaven on March 24, 2024. She was surrounded by family and the deep love they have for her. Jean lived 89 years and gave her full heart to all of them. Her life was full with her family and the joy they brought her. Jean was born in Enid Oklahoma on January 8, 1935. Her southern roots ran deep and she spent most of her early years living in the warm sun of the south. She graduated from Lamesa High School in Lamesa Texas and moved to Montana shortly after. It was there where she met and married her husband, Boyd P. Jensen and started a family. She worked as a legal secretary in Great Falls, Montana until her life took her to the beautiful state of Colorado where she worked for P&M Coal Company. She served as the head of their communications department. Jean was an avid reader, very smart, and a people person. She could talk to anyone about anything and was such a giver. She lived her life out loud and her heart was as big as the world. She loved deeply and fiercely. Her family was her greatest love and source of joy. There was always a “bless your heart” or “I Love you to pieces” when she spoke to them or someone she cared for. Jean’s love and knowledge of all sports was unmatched. She was a Denver Broncos fan like no other and you could hear her cheering miles away. As much as she loved her professional and college sports her very favorite were those events of her children and grandchildren. She spent countless hours watching and cheering from the stands and sidelines. She loved every minute of it, and gave the best hugs afterwards no matter the outcome. Her exact birthday was shared with Elvis Presley and she adored him. He was HER king of Rock & Roll. Jean loved to dance to his music and sing his songs. She was a lover of the arts and musicals and she could get up and move to anything on the record player. And that she did! Jean had an unmatched wit and more clever sayings than imaginable. She was generous with her hugs and kisses and her wisdom gave her family their foundation. Her love of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Golden Rule (Matthew 7:12) were her compass and she passed that on to her children. Travels always took her to family which spanned from Texas to Alaska and always made her so happy. Jean had a love for the outdoors, except for the W•I•N•D, it was never to be said – just spelled. Caring for animals and flowers made her smile and there was nothing a good walk or dark chocolate could not fix. She was a loyal friend and was always there with a listening and giving heart. Jean had a style that was all her own. It was both fun and classy, and her jewelry was the icing on her outfit. Everything matched and her boots and jeans with a little leopard print mixed in was a style staple. She loved to get dressed up for the occasion, whether it was going out for her favorite Mexican food with friends or family, or for the holidays – She got decked out! It wasn’t uncommon to see a ring on every finger or several bracelets running along her wrists, with nails always done to perfection. The mold was broken when our beautiful “Momma Jean”, “Grandmere”, “Jean Darlene”, “Gigi” was born. She will be missed deeply and we know that she is now living in Joy, Comfort, and Peace with Our Lord Jesus Christ. Rest Easy and as you would always say to us – “We Love You to Pieces!” Jean is preceded in death by her parents John Robert Lamun and Walterine Freeman Lamun, her brother John Robert “JB” Lamun. She is survived by her Sister Patsy Ann Akin, children; her son, Doak Jensen, daughters, Jacquelyn Jean Talafous (Dean), March Jensen Williams (Rudy), and Jill Rae Winten (Dennis). Her surviving Grandchildren; Marcelina Maria Riddle (John), Mariah Grace Williams, Gil Rudolph Williams, Michayla A. Nice, Kayla Rae Winten King (Tyler (TJ)) and Karli Jae Winten. Her surviving Great Granddaughter is Leona Maria Riddle. There will be a private family service for Jean and memorial service that will be announced, at a later date.
